Ohmite has combined the internal technology of its FCSL series with the TO-220 packaging of its TBH series to achieve handling in excess of 25A.

This creates a resistor that is designed for a variety of applications requiring intermediate heatsinkable power at an economical price.

The low TCR characteristics of the FCSL construction, using pure Ni-Cu alloys, result in a more stable resistor than the thick film construction used by other manufacturers for low-current sensing values.

At the same time, a competitive price against other metal-foil TO-220 products is achieved by combining these technologies into one integrated design in which the resistance element is electrically insulated from the metal heatsink mounting tab.

With an operating temperature range of -55C to +150C and a temperature co-efficient of 0.03-10ohm at +/- 100ppm and 11ohm-10Kohm at +/- 50ppm, the TBH has a resistance range of 0.03ohm-10Kohm and a maximum operating voltage of 350V.

Applications for the resistors include power supplies, industrial controls, automotive steering, pre-load/damping, snubber/bleeder and current sensing.
