Four-terminal current-sense resistors provide outputs independent of the resistance and temperature coefficient of the terminals for more accurate current measurement.

Ohmite's surface-mount LVK four-terminal current-sense resistor series provides a range of sizes from 1206 to 2412, with an alternative 2W version in a 1224 footprint.

The four-terminal (or Kelvin) configuration enables current to be applied through two opposite terminals and a sensing voltage to be measured across the other two terminals, eliminating the resistance and temperature coefficient of the terminals for a more accurate current measurement.

Always preferred in current sense applications, the LVK range is available in values down to 0.010ohm in the 0.50, 0.75 and 1.0W packages, with tolerances as tight as 0.50% and TCRs of 50ppm standard.

The 2W package can go as low as 0.001ohm (1%, 300ppm), and as high as 0.010ohm (1%, 100ppm).

The working temperature range of the LVK is -55 to +200C.

Designed for automatic insertion, the LVK series can be shipped as both 1000- and 5000-piece reels as well as 100-piece loose packaging for prototypes.
