Note introduces package-on-package service
Note UK has bought a Siemens dip-flux unit for its Stonehouse, Gloucestershire site.
To ensure a repeatable and robust fitment process, it developed a process that includes flux depth, alignment and reflow checks.
Considerable development time has been spent regarding temperature profiles, as these are important to ensure correct reflow for a high-quality assembly.
Note can place both 0.4 and 0.5mm pitch devices.
Production to date has been focused on Texas Instruments' OMAP3530 devices.
This process is fully integrated into Note UK's Siemens Siplace high-speed cell, which incorporates D1 and D2 pick-and-place machines.
The Siemens SMT line has capacity and flexibility through off-line set-up and programming capability.
Note UK provides a full EMS service and produces PCBAs ranging from fast turnaround prototypes to medium volume.
Note deploys a Nearsourcing strategy that enables it to remain in close proximity with its customers from concept phase, through the design cycle and into full product manufacture.
Note can offer customers seamless transfer of products to lower-cost areas where required.
