NIC Components Europe has introduced a new range of radial leaded interference suppression film capacitors. The NPX series has safety agency approvals from numerous bodies including UL and CSA. All parts from the range are lead (Pb) free and fully RoHS compliant.

The devices have a metallised polypropylene moulded box construction and a specification that includes X2 across-the-line (250/275V AC) rating.

A capacitance range of 1000pF to 1.0uF and an operating temperature range of -40 to +100C helps designers find a suitable part for most applications.

With its noninductive self-healing construction, the NPX series offers improved safety compared with ceramic alternatives.

Metallised polypropylene film capacitors also typically provide a more economical solution to EMI noise suppression than ceramic devices.

In addition to UL and CSA certification, the range has VDE, SEV, Semko, Nemko, Demko, Fimko and CE approval.

Applications for NPX series capacitors exist in products such as power supplies, power management circuits, power inverters, voltage doublers and AC/DC convertors.

Parts can be supplied on tape for high-speed insertion to help reduce PCB assembly costs.
