Op amps keep power consumption down
All three of National Semiconductor's new op amps have power consumption of less than 16uW per channel, while providing 130kHz of usable bandwidth.
National Semiconductor has released a family of micropower precision amplifiers that provides guaranteed maximum offset voltage drift over temperature (TCVOS) as low as +/-0.4uV/C These 16uW per channel operational amplifiers (op amps) feature the industry's lowest TCVOS, along with low-offset voltage, quiescent current and bias current to enable a high level of system accuracy, extended battery life and long-term stability in portable systems and battery-powered sensor interface products

The LMP2231 single, LMP2232 dual and LMP2234 quad micropower op amps feature CMOS inputs, 1.6 to 5.5V operation, 10uA of supply current per channel, low-offset voltage of 150uV and a wide temperature range of -40 to +125C.
All three op amps have ultra-low power consumption of less than 16uW per channel, while providing 130kHz of usable bandwidth Optimal instrumentation systems require that the sensor's signal is accurately amplified without adding errors.
National provides this analogue signal-path solution by offering both the LMP223x devices and ADC121S021, a 12bit, one-channel analogue-to-digital convertor.
