"This product extends National's leadership position and enables our customers to implement time and money-saving embedded test features in their products".
National's Scansta101 is a system-level IEEE1149.1 compliant support device that converts parallel test data into an 1149.1 compliant bit stream without the overhead necessary for vector conversion.
The device is optimised for embedded test applications where test features are built into the system.
The Scansta101 features an onboard memory that speeds testability by eliminating process bottlenecks when converting data from parallel to serial formats, and back to parallel.
Scansta101 uses a generic asynchronous processor interface that is a simple to use and is compatible with a wide range of processors and clock frequencies.
The Scansta101 is supported by National Semiconductor's Scanease rev 2.0.
Scanease is a command line utility that converts serial vector format (SVF) test vectors from ASCII to a highly efficient binary embedded vector format EVF2.
Scanease adds the functionality of the Scansta101 and IEEE1149.1 into embedded test vectors.
Scansta101 also features a wide, 16bit data interface (IP scalable to 32bit) that allows faster throughput of data.
Flexible dual-port memory addressing may be accessed by either the parallel processor interface or the 1149.1 master.
Load-on-the-fly (LOF) and pre-load operating modes are supported, allowing for flexible system design.
A 32bit linear feedback shift regulator (LFSR) at the test data in (TDI) port compresses test results, enabling a quick evaluation of software programming or test results.
Scansta101 operates at a 3.3V power supply and is tolerant of 5V I/O, which allows its use in mixed-voltage systems.
It also operates in power down mode, allowing hot insertion.
National's Scansta101 is available in a 49-pin BGA package (7 x 7mm with 0.8mm pitch), or as an intellectual property (IP) model for embedding into SoCs.
National's Scansta101 is available for $9.00 each in 1000-unit quantities.
