Data acquisition specialist earns Platinum rating from Venture Development Corporation for being in the top 5% of embedded board vendors

Measurement Computing has been recognised in the top 5% (Platinum) of Venture Development Corporation's 2006 Platinum and Gold Embedded Board Vendor Awards. The awards recognise the top vendors of merchant computer boards among users. The awards are done as part of VDC's annual Global Market Analysis of Merchant Computer Boards for Embedded/Real-time Applications , a research report that focuses on the core embedded markets for slot single board computers, embedded motherboards, mezzanine cards, computer-on-modules (COMs), and PC/104 stackables.

The Platinum and Gold ratings are generated entirely with user feedback entered into an impartial model, proprietary to VDC.

Users identified their most important non-product criteria in evaluating a vendor, such as product availability/delivery, price, reliable long-lived products, technical support, etc.

Next, they identified vendors from whom they had purchased computer boards.

Then they rated those vendors against those criteria on a scale of one to five.

The data was aggregated and appropriately weighted to reflect the relative importance of the various criteria, and a score was generated for each vendor.

The embedded board vendors with scores in the top 5% were awarded 'Platinum' status, and vendors with a score in the next highest 10% were awarded 'Gold'.

Measurement Computing ranked with the top 5%, earning Platinum.

Bill Kennedy , Measurement Computing's vice president of sales and marketing says, 'We've always aimed at customer satisfaction by offering a wide selection of quality hardware products, matched with software for every skill set, at the lowest possible prices'.

'And, we've built a reputation for having the best support in the industry'.

'It's particularly gratifying when a respected third party such as VDC conducts a global marketing analysis and finds out from our customers that we're right on target!'
