Processor family offers scalable
performance
The processor performance of the new ETX family is scalable through different assemblies using Intel Pentium M or Celeron M embedded processors.

The processor performance of the new ETX family is scalable through different assemblies using Intel Pentium M or Celeron M embedded processors.
The types named ETE-PM8553 are available with Intel Pentium M 745, which is clocked with 1.8GHz or Intel Pentium M (1.6GHz) or Intel Pentium M LV 738 (1.4GHz).
The maximum capacity of the L2 cache is 2Mbyte.
The CM versions come with an Intel Celeron M LV 373 (1.0GHz) or Intel Celeron M 320 (1.3GHz).
The most energy saving module is equipped with an Intel ULV Celeron M, which draws a typical power of 8W at a clock frequency of 600MHz.
The L2 cache of the Celeron M versions exhibits a capacity of 512kbyte.
The 95 x 114 x 12mm small ETX platform is based on the chipsets Intel 855GME or 852GM together with a ICH4 south bridge.
The Intel Extreme Graphics2 Controller integrated in the chip set provides excellent graphics performance.
The main memory can be expanded up to a maximum of 1Gbyte by means of DDR333 SDRAM via a SODIMM socket.
ECC memory is also supported.
A wide range of connection options offers a high degree of flexibility.
In addition to a 32bit PCI bus interface, an improved ISA Bridge (PCI/ISA Bridge ITE8888) is available on the modules.
Moreover, in addition to a LAN and a sound interface, connections for flat panel or CRT displays are provided.
The maximum resolution of the CRT interface is 2048 x 1536 pixels, the LCD interface delivers up to 1600 x 1200 pixels.
Parallel and serial interfaces, IrDA, 4 x USB 2.0, as well as signal lines for keyboard and mouse complete the offer.
Storage media can be connected via two SATA-150 and two enhanced IDE ports.
For evaluation and design-in of the ETX modules, MSC offers base boards and user-specific motherboards which support all interfaces of a standard PC.
Starter kits for Windows XP (embedded), Windows CE and Linux are available upon request.
