Record quarter for Monterey
Monterey Design Systems has closed a record quarter as a result of expanded orders from existing customers and the addition of several new accounts
In this newly created executive-level position, Daniel will lead the effort to forge strategic alliances with Monterey's largest customers, leading library and IP providers, as well as with other EDA vendors. Daniel reports to Jacques Benkoski, the company's president and CEO. "Thomas has been one of the most well-respected members of the semiconductor industry for a number of years and he is a welcome addition to our management team", stated Benkoski.
"With his track record of achievement in the development and execution of ASIC methodologies, Thomas is the perfect complement to Monterey's strengths in software development and deployment.
He brings a wealth of knowledge from the customer side that will be a tremendous advantage to us as we develop stronger, more strategic relationships with our customers and partners".
"Having worked with Monterey as a customer, I am convinced that their approach to physical design and implementation is far superior to anything else on the market", said Daniel.

Prototyping system predicts device performance
Calypso is the industry's first silicon virtual prototyper to combine hierarchical design planning and silicon performance estimation in a single, integrated tool
"Monterey's hierarchical System-Driven Physical Design solution is a tremendous differentiator.
No other vendor comes close to Monterey when it comes to physical hierarchy, tight integration, and ease of use.
It is my charter to deliver the benefits that Monterey has to offer to as many IC designers as possible".
At LSI Logic, Daniel was responsible for developing a "best-in-class" design flow incorporating the most advanced EDA point tools available.
"Notwithstanding the commendable efforts of the standards organisations, there are very serious shortcomings in almost all of the standard EDA file interfaces", said Daniel.
"Instead of focusing on design issues, engineers spend time writing and maintaining dozens of point-to-point, tool specific interfaces.
With the Monterey products, designers can experience the immeasurable benefits of an integrated, streamlined solution".
