Designers can now achieve the energy, power and capacitance density of supercapacitors without the high ESR or loss of capacitance at high pulse repetition rates that hinder traditional devices, with a new product available from Micromark C and CD The AVX BestCap range of electrochemical supercapacitors features a new aqueous chemistry that reduces ESR to milliohms compared with several ohms for traditional devices, and allows the parts to retain up to 65% of nominal capacitance when used with short pulses in the millisecond region
