Cores are optimised for common-mode applications
At the 2005 PCIM show in Nuremberg from 5th to 7th June, Magnetec will release a new range of high permeability toroidal cores, specially designed for use in common-mode-filter chokes.
At the 2005 PCIM show in Nuremberg from 5th to 7th June, Magnetec will release a new range of high permeability toroidal cores, specially designed for use in common-mode-filter chokes.
The innovative cores are based on the well known Nanoperm alloy with improved high frequency properties.
The design has been optimised for common-mode applications, enabling highest possible attenuation levels using a minimum of soft magnetic material.
On other words, the new cores feature a bigger inner hole and increased wire winding window compared with the established standard in combination with improved material properties.
This leads to more cost efficient chokes with high performance nanocrystalline cores.
Thus, a new alternative to existing ferrite-based solutions for the use in price-sensitive applications is available now.
The advantages are: reduced build volume and weight, higher leakage inductance and attenuation, higher and more uniform attenuation, higher working temperature and improved stability.
