Modular power system boasts higher density
MM5 Series switch-mode power supplies provide a modular power system with industry leading 8.7W/in3 power density at very high efficiency of 80-87% at full load.
Compact supplies meet UL requirements
The latest additions to the Magnetek HP power supply family comply with Underwriters Laboratories' requirements to display the UL recognised mark.
Designed to meet the latest National Electrical Code (NEC 2005) and Underwriters Laboratory (UL) standards for the US market, the Aurora PVI-3600 inverter features ultrahigh power density in terms weight and volume.
It also incorporates state-of-the-art silicon power devices such as silicon carbide diodes, CoolMOS and insulated gate bipolar transistors (IGBTs) that minimise switching losses and total harmonic distortion.
Delivering continuous power output of 3600W at 40C and peak power conversion efficiency in excess of 96%, the PVI-3600 is expected to achieve a California Energy Commission (CEC) efficiency rating of at least 94.5%.

Inverters are passed fit for grid connection
Aurora 3.6kW wind power inverters have been tested and listed to UL1741 standard by CSA for grid-connected operation on the utility power grid throughout the USA and Canada.
Inverters are made for large-scale solar power
Magnetek has unveiled a new generation of photovoltaic (PV) inverters for commercial and large residential solar power installations.
Magnetek's dual-source circuit inputs, each with its own MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracker) - an industry exclusive - afford design flexibility in all installations and deliver unmatched energy-harvesting capability under all ambient light and weather conditions.
The new Aurora product also is expected to deliver exceptional reliability, based on Magnetek's extensive experience in designing and building digital power products for telecommunications and computer applications where reliability is paramount.
The Aurora PVI-3600 inverter has been designed with a 25-year MTBF on all critical components, resulting in an extremely robust product built to last while delivering true maximum output power on a continuous basis.
Weighing less than 8kg, the Aurora PVI-3600 indoor model is uncommonly compact, featuring sleek aesthetics that won an award as one of the year's five best designs at Intel 2005, the international electronics show, together with technology that earned the 2005 "Solar power systems technology innovation of the year" award from Frost and Sullivan.
With IP21 (NEMA 2) enclosure protection and a slim 2.25in-deep design, it is particularly well suited for installation in hallways or modern garages of new home developments.
The product features a large graphical LCD on the front panel, allowing end users to monitor the performance of their solar systems in real time.
An onboard datalogger comes standard, and additional options for user interface and remote communication are available.
Adoption of this cutting-edge inverter requires the use of upgraded PV interconnect cables that are currently being certified.
