Machine Vision Products has been granted a United States Patent for its CIMCIS computer integrated manufacturing control and information system. CIMCIS allows manufacturers to monitor their processes in real time. For example, in printed circuit board assembly, CIMCIS can monitor each piece of equipment on the manufacturing line.

In this instance, should the process become unstable or begin operating outside the operator's present required parameters, the system will send a signal that the monitored process is out control and corrective action must be taken.

Once these actions are implemented, further errors and defects are eliminated.

CIMCIS capabilities include machine and line management, setup verification and feeder tracking, and material management and control.

The product can be used in several applications, from bottling, medical, and textile to electronics manufacturing.

Basically, anywhere a manufacturing process needs monitoring, CIMCIS can perform.

"We have already proven ourselves in some of the best OEM and CEM facilities internationally", stated Tom Nash, president of MVP's CIMCIS Division.

"Our customers are now enjoying tremendous savings through increased yields and quality while managing SMT material which provides a significant reduction in scrap and attrition".

"It's a scary thing.

Just when you believe your manufacturing is at its best, we put CIMCIS on the line and find out a manufacturer is only operating at extremely low levels of efficiency.

That's when we can locate the problems, correct them on the spot, and tighten up the process increasing the company's effectiveness by 15-50% in just one week's time", said Nash.

"We are pleased with the recent patent issuance", commented George Ayoub, President and CEO of MVP.

"Our goal is to remain at the forefront of manufacturing technology through constant innovation.

The CIMCIS patent grant demonstrates our team's dedication to meet this goal".
