In a move unprecedented in the embedded systems market, LynuxWorks has announced that its LynxOS-178 real-time operating system (RTOS) is the first-ever commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) RTOS to support Intel's Pentium architecture in safety-critical systems In addition, LynxOS-178 2.2 also provides an enhanced capacity for communication across separate devices using different operating systems and includes expanded memory support that enables developers of military and aerospace systems to take full advantage of today's more powerful hardware
