LynuxWorks is arranging a series of European seminars reviewing the issues involved in designing a 'secure embedded system' from the operating system to the middleware and encryption. The seminars, which will be held on 6th December 2005 in London, on 8th December in Paris and on 13th December in Munich, will cover information assurance and security in software, evaluating assurance levels, handling information of different levels of classification the Rushby separation kernel model, security issues in operating systems, middleware, and networking, encryption and certification artefacts and processes. Specifically for these European seminars, there will be additional presentations on DO-178B and safety critical software.

Commenting, Hamid Mirab, Managing Director, EMEA for LynuxWorks, said: 'Embedded systems are increasingly becoming networked, and this presents a whole new set of challenges to developers'.

'These presentations will appeal particularly to anyone working in defence systems, avionics and other applications where system integrity is a core value in the design'.

LynuxWorks offers a complete family of embedded software security products including LynxSecure, LynxOS-178, LynxOS v4.0 and BlueCat v5.1.

It was the first to introduce LynxSecure Separation Kernel with BlueCat Linux running in a partition, as a guest operating system.

LynxSecure is designed to provide a scalable solution ranging from embedded systems to workstations and servers that can be applied to applications in embedded avionics products, weapons systems, C4ISR data systems as well as critical infrastructure control systems.
