The company also plans to integrate the feature set of CGL v1.0 into next-generation versions of its Embedded Linux operating system, BlueCat Linux, in early 2003. In doing so, LynuxWorks will deliver higher availability, security enhancements and new standards for the Linux kernel for its customers in the telecommunications market, such as telephone equipment manufacturers.
With support of the CGL specifications, BlueCat will become a key tool for communications service providers addressing new challenges in network architecture, bandwidth, security, and performance.
BlueCat is an enhanced implementation of the Linux model, packaging the flexibility and cost benefits of open-source software with the stable construction of a commercial-grade embedded operating system.
The result is a dependable product from an ISO9001-certified company, with a comprehensive set of commercial-quality tools and board-support packages that allows developers to deploy Linux into virtually any embedded environment.
