"The innovative and advanced capabilities integrated into the ZiVA-5 processor help us provide our customers with enticing new features that are in increasingly high demand".
The most powerful DVD system processor on the market, the LSI Logic ZiVA-5 makes use of a 32bit multimedia RISC CPU with DSP extensions and a high-performance 32bit 2D graphics processor.
This advanced technology enables Philips to offer value-added new features such as Super Audio CD (SACD), Flash memory capability, digital photo and music manager.
With more consumers editing, sharing and storing images from digital cameras and portable MP3 players, these new features are even more attractive.
The LSI Logic ZiVA-5 system processor also provides high quality video features such as True Scan progressive scan technology at an affordable price point, allowing Philips' new line of DVD players to display highly detailed images that will make movies look sharper and more pleasing to the eye.
"We are pleased that Philips Electronics is leveraging our video quality and unique features to offer consumers innovative choices for their home entertainment devices", said Umesh Padval, Senior Vice President and General Manager of LSI Logic's Broadband Entertainment Division.
"Philips is one of our key partners in the DVD market and this is the first of many products we plan to develop with them".
