The LTM8033 3A DC/DC uModule regulator system suits applications that require low-noise operation, such as medical equipment, avionics systems, communication wireless systems and ultrasonic detectors.
In addition to the device's onboard inductor, DC/DC converter and supporting circuitry, it includes an EMI (electromagnetic interference) filter, making it compliant with EN55022 Class B by a wide margin.
Linear Technology has introduced the LTM8033, a complete 3A DC/DC uModule regulator system
The circuitry is housed in a 11.25 x 15 x 4.32mm enclosed plastic LGA (land grid array) package and weighs 2.3g.
The LTM8033 operates from an input voltage range of 3.6 to 36V and can provide a regulated output voltage ranging from 0.8 to 24V at up to 3A.
If more than 3A is required, multiple LTM8033 devices can be paralleled for current sharing.
The LTM8033 has a resistor-selectable switching frequency adjustable from 200kHz to 2.4MHz, enabling the designer to improve efficiency according to the VIN-to-VOUT ratio of the conversion.
The LTM8033 is rated for operation from -40 to 125C and -55 to 125C.
