Linear Technology has announced a free seminar in partnership with ARM and Microsoft, focusing on design for the medical equipment and healthcare markets.

The seminar will take place in on 14 October 2010 at ARM in Cambridge; and on 19 October 2010 at Microsoft in Berkshire.

The seminar is aimed primarily at design engineers and managers in companies designing and building equipment in the medical and healthcare markets.

Presentations will cover healthcare and medical markets and highlight the application of technology in medical equipment.

The seminar will cover design from laboratory concept through prototype development to ramp to volume manufacture.

The speakers will provide an overview of the requisite standards and certifications in the clinical, imaging and home devices, highlighting how advances in semiconductor technology have increased the data handling and communication capability of medical equipment, enabling radically smaller form factors and reduced costs.

Each of the sponsors will have an exhibition area highlighting their products and services.
