Step-down convertor takes diodes onboard
The LT3470 is a 40V micropower step-down DC/DC convertor with integrated boost and catch diodes in a ThinSOT package.
Linear Technology has released the LT3470, a 40V micropower step-down DC/DC convertor with integrated boost and catch diodes in a ThinSOT package It operates from input voltages of 4 to 40V, delivering up to 200mA of output current optimising it for two-cell Li-ion, wall adapter or automotive power sources

Step-down convertor handles more heat
Extended-temperature 40V micropower step-down DC/DC convertor has integrated boost and catch diodes in a 2 x 3mm DFN package.
Burst mode operation reduces quiescent current to only 26uA, making it ideal for applications such as always-on automotive systems.
With an entire solution footprint of only 50mm2, the LT3470 works well in space constrained applications.
The LT3470 uses a hysteretic control scheme in conjunction with burst-mode operation to provide low output ripple, less than 10mV peak-peak, and low quiescent current, using a tiny inductor and ceramic capacitor.
Integrated boost and catch diodes reduce external component count and solution size.
Finally, fast current limiting and hysteric control protects the LT3470 and external components against shorted outputs, even at 40V.
The LT3470 in a ThinSOT is available from stock.
Pricing starts at $2.30 each for 1,000-piece quantities. Request a free brochure from Linear Technology Corp ...
