‘Capacitor’

An Electronicstalk guide

Start with the news release Capacitors suit use in microwave RF/IF amplifiers from AVX, which we summarised at the time by saying "AVX's MK capacitor series provides low ESR and handles high RF currents in applications such as microwave RF/IF amplifiers, low-noise amplifiers, mixers, oscillators, filter networks and MRI systems.". Several months prior to that, we featured the news release Dimmable LED driver ICs for lighting applications from Power Integrations: "Power Integrations has announced seven additions to its Linkswitch-PH range of LED driver ICs optimised for industrial and commercial settings where high efficiency and system longevity are vital.".

In January 2011, we covered the news from Murata Electronics - take a look at Multilayer ceramics replace tantalum capacitors which says: "Murata has increased production capacity of its Hicap high-capacitance multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs), as this series is replacing tantalum capacitors in increasing numbers of applications. ".

Take a look also at the news release from Murata Electronics, MLSCs reduce electronic failure in automotive apps, as well as Parametric test systems simplify test-plan setup from Keithley Instruments, and AVX adds low-noise MLCC to product offering from AVX.
