The purchase price was Eur 39.5 million (GBP 26.5 million).
A mandatory tender offer will be made for the remaining shares in June.
Based in the USA, Littelfuse is a worldwide manufacturer of advanced circuit protection devices for the electronics, automotive and electrical power sectors and offers the industry's widest range of products.
It has manufacturing plants in seven countries and a turnover in 2003 of $340 million (GBP 190 million).
A leading global designer and manufacturer of fuses for the electronics, automotive and electrical industries, Heinrich Industrie with its Wickmann Group has manufacturing plants in three countries.
The group had an aggregated turnover of Eur 82.8 million (GBP 55.6 million) in 2003.
Heinrich is seen as a good strategic fit with Littelfuse as the companies serve many of the same markets with complementary products and both have a commitment to continuous product development, quality and customer service.
