To meet the greatly increased demand for its miniature fuses, Wickmann Components has doubled the stock levels of all its ranges.

To meet the greatly increased demand for its miniature fuses, Wickmann Components has doubled the stock levels of all its ranges.

This demand is the result of one of its two major competitors moving its entire sales operation to Holland and the other changing its manufacturing base to China, which has lead to supply difficulties in the UK.

As Wickmann's UK Managing Director Bill Lawler said: "Holding sufficient stock locally is essential to ensure we meet both the short and long term requirements of our customers.

Increasing our stock enables us to satisfy the needs of customers of our competitors who are now knocking on our door.

We have been in Redditch for 16 years and have found it an ideal central supply point for our customers throughout the UK and Ireland".

Wickmann manufactures a wide range of miniature fuses and developed the first 5 x 20mm cartridge fuse in the 1930s.

Still a worldwide standard, this category offers the widest available range of internationally approved miniature fuses.

Other types include wire-ended and chip SMD fuses, resettable fuses and automotive fuses, together with suitable fuseholder ranges.

Applications include consumer, telecomms, industrial, medical and automotive electronics.
