Littelfuse has introduced lead-free versions of its axial-leaded 2AG series of subminiature glass fuses, 3AG glass and ceramic fuses, 3AB ceramic fuses and 5 x 20mm glass and ceramic-bodied fuses.

To meet the growing needs of manufacturers who must meet worldwide lead-free manufacturing requirements, Littelfuse has introduced lead-free versions of its axial-leaded 2AG series of subminiature glass fuses, 3AG glass and ceramic fuses, 3AB ceramic fuses and the full range of 5 x 20mm glass and ceramic-bodied fuses.

Designed to withstand the higher temperatures associated with lead-free wave soldering, the new fuses offer the same performance specifications as the conventional 2AG, 3AG and 3AB and 5 x 20mm fuses.

This is one of a series of major lead-free product releases by Littelfuse, which has pledged to reduce or eliminate lead in all its product lines.

The company's goal is to allow end-product manufacturers to comply with worldwide lead-free initiatives such as Europe's RoHS Directive and the Japanese Electronics Industry Development Association lead-free product roadmap.

The new fuses also comply with electronic industry manufacturing standards for lead-free circuit board content including IEC60068-2-20 as well as the EIA-IS-722 (Low voltage supplemental fuse qualification specification), CSA and UL approvals.

5 x 20mm series fuses are currently available in full production quantities, and 2AG, 3AG and 3AB series can be supplied for sampling and will be available June 2005 in full production quantities.
