Laird Technologies has released the OC51505 vertically polarised direct-mount omnidirectional antenna for indoor and outdoor WLAN applications.

The antenna operates in the 5150-5875MHz band with 5dBi gain and linear vertical polarisation (VPOL).

VPOL increases the range of the antenna over hilly terrain and also minimises the reception of interfering horizontally polarised (HPOL) UHF and VHF signals that are common in densely populated areas.

The OC51505 is a vertically polarised omnidirectional antenna that offers full 802.11a wideband performance.

Its 5GHz broadband WLAN performance meets the demands of interior and exterior mounted wireless network systems, such as those found on college campuses, airports, hospitals, and transportation centres.

The antenna's rugged, lightweight, and UV water-resistant housing is fitted with an integrated RF connector that is embedded in the base cap for direct mounting to WLAN access points.

Special venting permits either upright or inverted orientation in outdoor locations.

The OC51505 may also be pole-mounted when separation from the AP is required for optimum positioning.
