The JetCard 1204w and 1208w are four- and eight-port RS232 Universal PCI communication cards that support operation at temperatures from -40 to +85C

Available now from Korenix Technology, the JetCard 1204w and 1208w are four- and eight-port RS232 universal PCI wide temperature communication cards. The two new devices are claimed to be the world's first serial communication cards that support operation at temperatures from -40 to +85C, providing perfect solutions for extreme industrial environments such as building automation, security, billboard broadcasting, or any outdoor applications.

In addition to withstanding extreme temperatures, the JetCard 1204w and 1208w use the high-performance single-chip OX16C954 four-port universal asynchronous receiver transmitter, from Oxford Semiconductor.

Each UART channel in the JetCard offers datarates up to 921.6Kbit/s and 128byte-deep transmitter and receiver FIFOs.

Deep FIFOs reduce CPU loading and allow higher datarates.

Each UART channel is software compatible with the widely used industry-standard 16C550 devices.

In addition to increased performance and FIFO size, the JetCard 1204w and 1208w also improve automatic software flow control by using Xon/Xoff, and automatic hardware flow control by using CTS#/RTS# to prevent FIFO overrun.

Moreover, the JetCard 1204w and 1208w come with 15kV ESD surge protection, protecting communications from power instabilities.

The JetCard 1204w and 1208w have easy-to-install drivers that support Windows 98/Me/NT/2000/XP/2003 and Linux.

All JetCard Series devices have CE/FCC certificates and come with a global 5 year warranty.
