Lead-free termination becomes the norm
Kemet is switching to lead-free as the standard termination finish on tantalum MnO2 and organic polymer KO-CAP products.
These have resulted in more than 100% gain in active area.
The advancements combined with the Ko-Cap advanced polymer processing system yield the highest capacitance-to-case-size, and the lowest ESR offering available in the industry today.
Values available in I-case sizes (3.2 x 1.6 x 1.0mm) range from 100uF at 3V to 33uF at 10V.
The M-case size (3.5 x 2.8 x 1.5mm) parts are offered with values from 330uF at 3V to 100uF at 10V.
The new small case size parts are ideal for use in portable consumer electronics equipment where the demand for components with high levels of functionality is a key requirement for designers.
Kemet Ko-Cap capacitors are commonly used for decoupling and filtering in power management circuits.
Applications can be found in mobile phone handsets, notebook PCs, digital cameras, MP3 players and flat panel displays.
