The WinDriver driver development tool now supports Microsoft Windows CE.NET on ARM PrimeXsys platforms

Jungo Software Technologies' WinDriver driver development tool now supports Microsoft Windows CE.NET on ARM PrimeXsys platforms. WinDriver 6.03 enables hardware access and driver development for both PCI and USB devices. "This step forward by Jungo demonstrates its commitment to extending WinDriver's support to ARM PrimeXsys platforms.

As a majority of Windows CE.NET devices are now based on the ARM architecture, this new toolkit will significantly shorten and simplify current development activity for many software designers", said Mary Inglis, Director of Operating Systems and Alliances, ARM.

WinDriver enables development of high performance drivers for USB and PCI peripheral devices that run Windows 95, 98, Me, NT, 2000, XP, Server 2003, Windows CE.NET, Linux, Solaris and VxWorks, providing crossplatform capabilities that enable porting of code between all supported operating systems.

WinDriver provides graphical development environments, application programming interfaces (APIs), hardware diagnostic utilities and samples to accelerate driver development.

"Driver development is a key bottleneck in the embedded world, playing an important factor in the time required for the development of embedded devices", said Ophir Herbst General Manager of Jungo's Software Tools Division.

"Jungo now extends the ease and efficiency of WinDriver for Windows CE.NET to ARM developers to provide them with the best tools possible".

Free full featured, 30 day evaluation versions of Jungo's driver development tools are available for download from the Jungo website.

Jungo's products may be purchased from Jungo directly, or via one of Jungo's worldwide resellers.
