Boundary-scan controller suits laptop
use
The JT 3705/USB can be used for structural board testing or in-system device programming (ISP) of CPLDs and flash memories.
JTAG Technologies has released a low-cost test system to address the requirements of SMEs and low-volume contract electronic manufacturers (CEMs) JTAG Technologies now offers a fully functional boundary-scan controller featuring two TAPs (test access ports)

A free JTAG-powered software tool supports the new SCANSTA476 analogue voltage monitor from National Semiconductor.
According to UK Sales Manager, James Stanbridge: "The market [for boundary-scan tools] has evolved massively in the past few years".
"In the nineties we were selling a premium product, primarily to innovators working in design environments".
"However, as JTAG/boundary-scan logic is now fitted as standard to all CPLDs and most 'processors a new cost-conscious market has opened up which needs addressing".
The new JT 3705/USB is USB-powered, making it portable and compatible with the burgeoning laptop population.
It offers two TAPs (test access ports) that can be fully synchronised for test purposes and is compatible with all JTAG Technologies' developer tools such as JTAG ProVision.
The JT 3705/USB can be used for structural board testing or in-system device programming (ISP) of CPLDs and flash memories.
Programmable output levels per TAP (1.5 to 3.6V) make the JT3705/USB compatible with all current and future logic families.
Test clock frequency may also be programmed from 100Hz to 6MHz, allowing test applications to be executed quickly.
Stanbridge concludes: "With a JT 3705/USB and a basic ProVision software set-up, SMEs can equip themselves with a potent structural test system for a great deal less than you might imagine".
"We believe this is a significant price breakthrough and puts boundary-scan test within reach of many more would-be users". Request a free brochure from JTAG Technologies ...
