Spectrometer checks samples
for RoHS compliance
The Horiba XGT-1000WR energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometer provides quantitative and qualitative nondestructive analysis of all elements from sodium to uranium
The Horiba XGT-1000WR energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) spectrometer provides quantitative and qualitative nondestructive analysis of all elements from sodium (Na) to uranium (U) for solid, liquid, powders and particulate samples. This instrument is specifically designed to address the environmental compliance for lead-free legislation, or more accurately, the Restriction of hazardous substances Directive - RoHS - which will come into effect on 1st July 2006.

This legislation restricts the use of Pb, Hg, Cd and other organic substances used in the manufacture of electrical and electronic equipment (EEE).
The detection limit of the XGT-1000WR is enhanced for the five main elements involved in this testing (Hg, Pb, Cd, Cr, Br) by the use of a unique primary filter.
The XGT Series introduces many exclusive innovations with six patents and represents a completely new generation of instrument which will lead the way to a new era of science.
The XGT-1000WR is designed for simple and fast quality control of samples as big as 460 x 360 x 150mm without cutting or disassembly.
Two high-intensity narrow X-ray beams can be selected: 1.2 or 0.1mm in diameter in order to make fast and accurate measurements even on small portions of large samples.
A real-time image of the sample is displayed to ensure proper placement in the sample compartment using a CCD camera.
