Jaluna is supporting the ARM920T microprocessor core with all its system software solutions, including the Jaluna-1 RTOS and the three Linux based products that comprise the Jaluna-2 family

Jaluna also plans to support additional ARM cores in the future. With the immediate availability of Jaluna-1 RTOS and Jaluna-2/EL products for the ARM920T processor, Jaluna is a unique supplier of both RTOS and Linux based system software. Jaluna products are priced to appeal to producers of high volume devices and equipment, such as found in the car, at home or in the enterprise.

"The commodities market is moving toward cost effective ARM core-based SoC designs.

Many companies want to benefit from Linux ubiquity and leverage their existing assets built around real-time operating systems", said Michel Gien, Jaluna CEO.

"The need for a dependable supplier meeting these needs has never been greater.

At Jaluna, we are leading the way in providing expertise and system software that help merge computing and embedded technologies onto a highly integrated and affordable platform".

A key illustration of the above is Jaluna-2/RT that combines a real-time micro kernel (C5) and a Linux instance running side-by-side on the same CPU.

Targeted at powerful yet cost-sensitive products, the ARM920T core delivers ultra-low power consumption with high performance.

Designed to handle streaming video and audio for mobile commerce, PDAs, smart phones and the connected office - the combination of the ARM core and the Jaluna technologies provides the right price-point and technical solution for current and next-generation devices.

"The creative product and business solutions provided by Jaluna, combined with the ARM920T core, will appeal to engineers and managers alike", said Mary Inglis, Director, OS and Alliance Marketing, ARM.

"The availability of these new Jaluna software products give even greater choice to developers of ARM Powered devices based on the ARM920T core".

The Jaluna-2/RT solution will be available before the end of 2003.

Jaluna's system software solutions include the Jaluna-1 RTOS and three Linux based products that comprise the Jaluna-2 family.

Jaluna-1 is a royalty-free modular RTOS derived from the very latest generation Chorus system.

It can be configured from small foot print microkernel to a complete carrier-grade class operating system.

The Jaluna-2 Family includes: Jaluna-2/EL, Jaluna-2/RT and Jaluna-2/VL.

These solutions address the needs of a wide range of appliances and equipment that leverage the momentum of Linux in the embedded systems industry.
