Brown to deliver first Prestige Lecture
Sir David Brown, Chairman of Motorola, will deliver the Mountbatten Memorial Lecture at the Institution of Engineering and Technology on Wednesday 1st November 2006
Sir David Brown, Chairman of Motorola, will deliver the Mountbatten Memorial Lecture at the Institution of Engineering and Technology in London, on Wednesday 1st November at 1830 GMT. Entitled 'Ringing the changes - the then, now and wow of seamless mobility', Sir David's lecture will tell the story of mobile communications from the beginning of the 20th century to the future choices made possible by the unprecedented degrees of seamlessness of communications that are in prospect.

Illustrating a seamlessly mobile future from a range of user perspectives, Sir David will also dwell on the potential socioeconomic benefits.
He will conclude by reflecting on the crucial role of the engineer in delivering them.

Sir David is Chairman of Motorola and former President of the Institution.
The 2006/2007 Prestige Lectures, of which the Mountbatten Memorial Lecture is the first, are a series of six free one hour lectures which are open to the public and provide an opportunity to hear from some of the greatest minds from industry and academia in the areas of science, engineering and technology.
