Synchronisable controllers aid distributed power
The ISL6406 and ISL6426 synchronous buck power controller ICs feature an adjustable 100 to 700kHz switching frequency range
In addition, they can be synchronised to an external clock or to other distributed DC convertors for a wide variety of distributed DC/DC power applications including broadband gateways, network access controllers and others products where accurate synchronisation of the regulator operating frequency is required.

Both regulators are optimised for generating low 0.8 to 3.3V voltages direct from a single 3.3 or 5V supply rail and offer highly efficient adjustable-frequency synchronous-buck switching regulation.
Typical power supply efficiencies of greater than 92% can be achieved helping to eliminate the need for a heatsink in standard-buck or linear-regulating convertors.
This combination of features and the miniature packaging in a 4 x 4mm quad flat no lead (QFN) package, enables high performance power supplies to be designed in an extremely small board area.
The ISL6406s output voltage is fully adjustable from 0.8 to 3.3V, whereas the ISL6426 output voltage is fixed at 1.8V.
The ISL6406 and ISL6426 are ideal for DC/DC power modules in network access devices, broadband gateways etc and other applications requiring high efficiency.
