The Intersil Endura ISL6529 is a compact 14-lead SOIC dual-voltage regulator for powering both the graphics processing unit and the video memory of today's graphics cards which increasingly require more sophisticated power management to deliver very high-resolution and visual effects with blazing refresh speeds.

The ISL6529 power solution saves manufacturers board space, parts costs and time-to-market while delivering higher quality and reliability, The ISL6529 IC combines two regulators on a single chip.
One is a synchronous-buck PWM controller that acts as a high-current supply for the graphics processor unit, and the other is a lower-current linear regulator for the video memory.
Both regulators can drive low cost drive N-Channel mosfetS.
The device also has many other applications such as powering application-specific ICs, embedded processors and DSP ICs.
The ISL6529 features fully adjustable outputs for 0.8-3.3V to provide design flexibility and operates at a high operating frequency of 600kHz resulting in smaller and less expensive filter components.
Excellent voltage regulation accuracy of 2% is maintained over temperature ensuring high reliability and the integrated design results fewer components saving board space, costs and complexity.
A reference design/evaluation platform (ISL6529EVAL1) is available from Intersil with full documentation and support.
