Acquisition cements international alliance
IC Electronic Components has acquired West Highland Semiconductor of Argyll, UK.

IC Electronic Components has acquired West Highland Semiconductorof Argyll, UK. West Highland Semiconductor was established in1996 as a supplier of obsolete discrete semiconductors with afocus on TO-39, TO-66 and TO-3 cases. Glenn Nichols, Presidentand CEO of IC Electronic Components, says: "This acquisitionwill expand our product line allowing us to provide these typesof products to many of our existing customers who have beenlooking for these unique devices through the years".
GrahamHenderson, founder and CEO of WHS, will continue as a consultant.Says Nichols: "This acquisition represents the first of manyinternational alliances we are seeking to consummate during thenext 12 months to expanding our customer base and providing ICElectronic Components quick access to products that the originalmanufacturer experience long lead-time with or find alreadyallocated".
