Inertial updates magnetic chip sensor

Inertial Aerosystems has introduced an enhanced version of the HMC 1043, a full three axis magnetic chip sensor.

This model is now available as RoHS (Reduction of Hazardous Substances) compliant The internal change from using Eutectic solder material of 63 per cent tin to a new material of 97 per cent tin, 3 per cent silver, is part of Honeywell's strategy to meet EU environmental standards

The small size and low weight of the 1043 makes it suitable for where space and weight are at a premium.

It is designed for high volume magnetometry and magnetic compass applications and suited to use in GPS receivers, robotics, security equipment, mobile phones, disability aids and process monitoring.

By using the established anisotropic magnetorestive technology, the product has advantages over fluxgate magnetic sensors, such as being sensitive to low fields and having low hysteresis.

Requiring only 2V DC and with its low-noise passive element design, it is compatible with battery-powered operations.

It can also be used in strong magnetic environments and has stray magnetic field compensation, low noise and set/reset straps.

It is also available in tape and reel packaging. Request a free brochure from Inertial Aerosystems UK ...
