Master-IC Training, the training division of IC Mask Design, has devised a new course on "Layout techniques for ESD structures".

Master-IC Training, the training division of IC Mask Design, has devised a new course on "Layout techniques for ESD structures" The course consists of a one-day seminar that discusses the issues involved in the physical design of circuits used in the protection of ESD (electrostatic discharge) on-chip

Ciaran Whyte, CTO and Senior Technical Trainer for IC Mask Design spent a considerable amount of time developing the content for the course and is very pleased with the result.

He commented on what prompted him to develop the course to begin with: "I've trained over 150 engineers from a multitude of organisations in the past two years and when I ask course delegates the question 'What additional courses would be relevant to you and your organisation?', over 65% have responded by saying that a course relating to ESD techniques would be extremely beneficial".

"At IC Mask Design we do our utmost to fulfil our customers' requests".

"This was an opportunity for us to respond to the markets growing need for such a course and to show that we endeavour to satisfy whatever needs we possibly can".

"We have not actively promoted or advertised the course yet", explained Amanda Collins, Marketing Co-ordinator for IC Mask Design: "and already we have secured bookings for two courses which are due to run in Cambridge (UK) and in Dresden (Germany) over the next 4 months".

"This alone is an indication of the type of demand which currently exists in the industry for such a course".

Seminars will take place in numerous countries over the next year, including Ireland, UK, France, Germany, Austria and Switzerland to name a few.

An additional advantage offered to customers is the availability of both public and private course options.

Public courses are held for the benefit of different companies, whereas private courses can be delivered to one individual company.
