hueggenberg gbr is presenting two technical courses for mobile technologies

From 22nd to 24th May the three-day-course 'OFDM for Advanced Wireless Communications' (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) will take place in Munich. It will be followed by a one-day-course on DVB-H on 25th May. This lecture is based on OFDM ground rules and gives an introduction to the physical layer of digital video broadcast for handhelds (DVB-H).

OFDM is a bandwidth-efficient digital modulation technique which forms the basis of many wireless standards currently under development.

The technique is now extremely popular for wireless communications, providing the base algorithm technology for common standards such as WLAN, WiMAX and MBWA.

Even in the broadcasting world of DVB (digital video broadcast) and DAB (digital audio broadcast) OFDM is becoming more essential.

Future evolutions of 3G (LTE) will likely see the adoption of ODFM, as will different modes of the evolving ultra wideband standards.

Since OFDM is a complex technology to implement this three-day course incorporates everything from the fundamentals, advantages and disadvantages of OFDM modulation to receive synchronisation techniques and case studies of cutting edge standards such as 802.11a/g (WLAN), 802.16 (WiMAX) and 802.20 (MBWA).

The syllabus is underpinned by a strong practical element in which attendees are invited to design and simulate physical layer elements of OFDM systems.

The Digital Video Broadcast for Handheld one-day course builds on the OFDM principles and has released the physical layer of Digital Video Broadcast for Handheld (DVB-H).

The technology, based on DVB-T, facilitates the delivery of digital TV services to handheld devices.

The key OFDM parameters for DVB-T and DVB-H are presented.

The courses are organised by hueggenberg gbr and instruction is performed by Steepest Ascent , who has more than 10 years of experience in the delivery of professional training.

The lectures are co-ordinated by Professor Bob Stewart with the assistance of the team at Steepest Ascent.

Each attendee will receive a comprehensive set of notes of more than 1200 pages as well as a multimedia CD featuring all printed notes and numerous demos and simulation software for in depth study after the course.

Lectures about this topic have been successfully presented in the USA at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) as well as on-site to a number of customers.
