Huawei launches commercial LTE eNodeB
Huawei Technologies, a provider of next-generation telecommunications network solutions, has launched an LTE eNodeB ready for large-scale commercial deployment.
This LTE eNodeB is able to fully support a downlink rate of up to 150Mbps in commercial LTE networks.
By adopting 64QAM (quadrature amplitude modulation) and MIMO (multiple input multiple output) technology with 2T2R (two transmitters and two receivers) capabilities, Huawei's latest LTE eNodeB is able to maximise the use of the ultra-wide bandwidth of LTE networks.
Higher-speed connection can provide end users with mobile data services such as high-definition video on demand (VoD) and high-simulation video conferencing.
The self-organising networks (SONs) solution of this eNodeB is able to automatically configure and optimise new cells in an LTE network.
With this solution, operators can reduce the expenses in operation and smoothly evolve to next-generation networks without much further investment.
Wan Biao, president of wireless at Huawei, said: 'It is a great milestone in the development of LTE technology.
'Based on our fourth-generation base-station platform, this LTE eNodeB will enable operators worldwide to offer high-quality LTE services immediately and accelerate the maturity of LTE industry.
In January 2009, Huawei was chosen by Teliasonera to deploy the commercial LTE network in Norway.
So far, Huawei has made more than 3,000 LTE/SAE contributions to standardisation bodies and has finished field tests and trials with a number of operators, such as Telenor and China Mobile.
