Actel licenses wireless LAN IP
HelloSoft has licensed its HelloWLAN IEEE802.11 b 'designer-tailored' IP to Actel's Protocol Design Services Group
HelloSoft has licensed its HelloWLAN IEEE802.11 b 'designer-tailored' IP to Actel's Protocol Design Services Group, a leading supplier of hardware and software design services to companies throughout the world. The HelloWLAN solution consists of the complete PHY and MAC for the IEEE802.11-series wireless LAN standards, including security, and is available as 'designer-tailored' licensable IP for semiconductor vendors and OEMs.

The solution is unique in that it is fully customisable allowing developers to specify the hardware/software partitioning for their specific target platform to optimally leverage existing resources and to minimise additional hardware costs.
The agreement with Actel includes licensing of real-time software and RTL implementations of the HelloWLAN IEEE 802.11 b PHY and MAC.
