Range includes eight different styles of equipment wire in all the popular sizes and colours, and two different styles of flat ribbon cable.

Anixter Components has added Alpha Wire's popular ranges of single-core equipment wire and flat ribbon cable to its 2008/2009 catalogue.

The new range includes eight different styles of equipment wire in all the popular sizes and colours, and two different styles of flat ribbon cable.

Equipment wires are used extensively for both electrical and electronic equipment and are required to perform in increasingly critical environments.

The diverse range available includes common industry standards like BS4808 Part 2, Tri-Rated, UL1015, UL1061 and UL1007/1569, as well as wires for more demanding applications such as low smoke emission, extreme temperatures and harsh chemical environments.

The range of DEF 61-12 Part 18 approved cables are manufactured with a thin-wall low-fire-hazard insulation for reduced levels of smoke and toxic fumes in the event of a fire and rated for 600V AC or 800V DC applications.

PTFE insulated wires are available in ranges conforming to BS3G210 and UL1213 standards and suitable for applications requiring improved flexibility over a wide temperature range and the ability to resist degradation by chemicals.

The Flat Cables now on offer include 28AWG 0.05in pitch in grey or colour coded conforming to UL standards 2651 and 20932 and are ideally suited for connecting printed circuit boards, especially where space is a premium.

"The introduction of these ranges from Alpha Wire expands our cable and cable management product offering and helps our customers to rationalise their supplier base", comments Andrew Fletcher, Technical Director, Anixter Components.

"We have been supplying top quality cable management solutions for over 40 years and the introduction of wire and cable to our range is a natural progression".
