The H6055 embedded module targets applications such as in-vehicle infotainment systems, battery-powered handheld devices and industrial automation.

Based on the ultra-low-power Intel Atom Processor E6XX series and Intel Platform Controller Hub EG20T, this system-on-a-chip (SOC) is said to improve feature integration significantly compared with existing Intel Atom Processor Z5XX series and offers a richer I/O feature set.

PCI Express (PCIe) is used as the chipset interface, which means that the Intel Atom Processor E6XX series can pair up with any PCIe-compliant device, such as a proprietary ASIC, FPGA or application-specific I/O hubs.

The launch of the Intel Atom Processor E6XX series presents a possibility for small-form-factor COM modules in high-volume and cost-sensitive applications that require extremely low power consumption and passive heat dissipation.

The H6055 Qseven Module measures 70 x 70mm, is based on Intel Atom Processor E6XX (600MHz, 1GHz and 1.3GHz, up to 1GB RAM) and has support for a range of storage options.

The I/O feature set includes Gigabit Ethernet, PCIe, USB, SATA, LPC and CAN.

The H6055 Qseven module is specified for industrial temperatures (-40 to 85C) upon introduction.
