Axiomtek has launched the CAPA800, a 3.5in embedded board designed for in-vehicle infotainment, industrial control, automation, gaming, medical devices, self-serve terminals and digital signage.

The small-footprint board is based on the low-power single-core Intel Atom processors N450 and D410 1.66GHz and the dual-cores Intel Atom processor D510 1.66GHz.

The CAPA800 has equipped the processor with the Intel ICH8M I/O controller hub to deliver good system performance and full I/O functions, and support full DDR2 1GB memory.

Integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3150 supports advanced 3D graphics and 18-bit LVDS and VGA.

Expansion capabilities include a socket for a PCI Express Mini card, and the system only requires a +12V DC power input.

The CAPA800 delivers high-bandwidth expansion capability with one PCI Express Mini card for custom system configurations.

It provides eight USB 2.0 ports and two serial ATA ports with transfer rates up to 3Gb/s.

Other onboard I/O features include four COM ports (three RS232 and one RS232/422/485), dual Gigabit LANs, Compactflash, and HD audio.

The low-power embedded board supports Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP embedded, and Linux.

The CAPA800 will be available around the end of October 2010.
