Video chips on show at IBC
NTT Electronics will be exhibiting its comprehensive range of products for MPEG-2 video compression and decompression on stand 6.229 at IBC.
This is achieved using the unique combination of NEL's SuperENC MPEG-2 encoder supported by Hitachi High-Technologies Corp, together with options for Peak's field proven, high quality up-convertor technology.
Versatility in functionality is key to the design philosophy behind the EMC7002.
With digital SDI/embedded-SDI or analogue video input options, the EMC7002 provides an MPEG-2 transport stream supporting high quality, ultralow encoding delay and MPEG-1 Layer 2 audio.
The standard product has an L-Band output with the versatility of options for 70MHz output, a 70MHz break-out loop combined with a higher specification L-Band output or an additional stage to C or Ku Band with a break-out loop at L-Band.
Users can choose the output suitable for their application.
ASI breakout is available as standard.
With NEL's encoder module consuming less than 3W, this places Peak's EMC7002 as one of the lowest prime power consumers of any encoder modulator in the market today.
The EMC7002 features a versatile QPSK modulator as standard, with firmware upgradeable to allow additional modulation schemes for 8PSK and 16QAM with convolution FEC coding and Reed-Solomon outer coding.
Ease of use in ENG and DSNG operation has been a key requirement, so the user is given the flexibility of controlling all baseband parameters up to the indicated final TX frequency from one easy-to-use menu structure.
Featuring a hot key system and large graphical LCD, the EMC7002 is quick and simple to operate.
Peak Communications has put together a fully integrated solution, with the EMC7002 providing a compact, low power, versatile encoder modulator convertor with the highest possible quality output.
It provides an essential and professional choice for news gatherers worldwide.
