TotalDeveloper is a fully-integrated solution that includes a real-time operating system (RTOS), C/C++ compilers, source level debugger, networking protocols, hardware debug probe, powerful development and analysis tools, on-site engineering services, and premium technical support.
TotalDeveloper provides the embedded developer with access to a wealth of Green Hills Software's technology developed over the course of its 20 years in the embedded industry, all the software a developer needs to produce an embedded product.
In addition, Green Hills provides companies with on-site engineering consultation customised to meet their individual needs.
This can include application porting, performance tuning, user training, or any combination of those services.
Green Hills Software's TotalDeveloper package addresses the needs of today's developers in the aerospace, automotive, consumer electronics, defence, industrial control, medical, networking, and telecommunications markets, many of which have broad requirements that overlap those of other vertical markets.

Dan O'Dowd, President of Green Hills Software comments: "In the 20th century, embedded software development products could be packaged into distinct subsets aimed at individual vertical markets since market requirements were distinct.
The 21st century has seen a convergence of requirements that demand technology that encompasses multiple vertical markets.
In the automotive industry, for example, developers designing tomorrow's automobile systems need the safety and reliability of aircraft fly-by-wire systems for new 'drive-by-wire' capabilities, the communications capabilities of a networking system for the many processors in the vehicle, the royalty-free pricing required by consumer electronics for onboard entertainment systems, and the web access of home gateways for telematics applications, all at the same time.
Which individual 'vertical solution' would cover all of these needs?".
TotalDeveloper includes Green Hills Software's C/C++ compilers and its Multi IDE with support for fifteen 32 and 64bit embedded processor target architectures, including PowerPC, MIPS, ARM, V800, ColdFire, 68K, x86/Pentium, i960, SH, and the ZSP, Intrinsity, StarCore and ST100 DSPs.
It also includes support for native and cross-development on PCs running Windows 98/2000/NT/XP or Linux and Sun Solaris workstations, and cross-development from HP/UX workstations.
TotalDeveloper offers a choice of royalty-free RTOSs, (Integrity or ThreadX), comprehensive TCP/IP and related networking protocols, the Green Hills Probe (an advanced, high-performance, multicore hardware debug device), on-site engineering services, and "premium support".
Premium support provides the guaranteed response time and resource commitments required by time-critical development schedules.
Green Hills Software's Integrity and ThreadX RTOS products have been selected by Ericsson, Alcatel, Hewlett-Packard, Lockheed-Martin, Lucent, Boeing, Rockwell and others because they offer higher reliability and better performance than any other RTOS.
Green Hills compilers have been selected for more EEMBC benchmark certifications than any other compiler because they consistently deliver the best performance.
"Other industries invest substantial amounts in providing their workers with effective productivity tools and services, but embedded software development traditionally has suffered from a lack of investment", commented David Chandler, Vice President of Sales for Green Hills Software.
"We priced our TotalDeveloper package at only $150,000 for a team of 10 developers - just about what it would cost to add an 11th developer to the team.
Yet, TotalDeveloper will improve the productivity of the entire team by far more than just one new programmer possibly could.
Our large customers asked us for this type of package, and they found it to be beneficial.
So, we decided to offer it to all of our customers as an option.
As a subscription product, customers only pay for TotalDeveloper as long as they need it.
And, since it's an option, customers can still purchase individual products 'a la carte' if they prefer".
For a 10-person development team, for example, The Green Hills TotalDeveloper package is priced at $150,000 per year, approximately the fully burdened cost of one additional team member.
TotalDeveloper includes all updates, enhancements, and new features as well as on-site services and Premium Support for rapid, guaranteed-response problem resolution.
Corporate and site license pricing also are available.
Traditional product pricing and licensing remains available as an option, giving customers a clear choice.
