Based on the successful M16C/60 CPU core, the new M16/10 series from Glyn are housed in 32-, 42- and 48-pin packages, and with typical current consumption of 28mA at 16MHz, making them ideal for low power designs or as performance upgrades from 8bit MCU applications.
A host of features which include five multifunction timers, UART, 12 channels of 10bit A/D and 8bit D/A convertors, WDT, 32kHz subclock and interrupt controller make the M16C/10 suitable for a wide range of applications including metering, heating and security control systems.
There is also a Flash version which includes memory that can be programmed or erased with a single supply.
In-circuit programming can be carried out serially using the on chip boot loader, but users who create their own programming utility, are able to erase or program the Flash sector by sector.
