Force Computers has introduced the fastest member of its family of PowerPC-based PCI mezzanine card (PMC) modules - the PowerPMC-260

The new card has been developed for telecomms, datacomms and industrial control applications that require data or control processing capability in a very small form-factor. With the latest 750CXe 600MHz PowerPC processor and 512Mbyte SDRAM, the PowerPMC-260 module provides a high-performance microprocessing engine for 3G wireless, ATM switches, IP Layer 3 switches, semiconductor test equipment and other demanding applications in communications and industrial control.

As the high-end member of the PowerPMC product family, the PowerPMC-260 implements the 750CXe 600MHz PowerPC processor together with the highly integrated Galileo GT-64260 system controller onto a very small PMC form-factor for a fast, compact embedded computing platform.

Fully compatible with the VITA-32 draft standard, this intelligent processor module can operate in either monarch or non-monarch mode in a system.

In addition, it features: 512Mbyte synchronous DRAM (option up to 1Gbyte); 64Mbyte Flash memory; a 64bit/66MHz PCI interface; one serial interface; three independent Fast Ethernet interfaces; debug support; and support for both the VxWorks real-time operating system and Linux.
