POC1211 is a new NEMS push-to-talk over cellular (PoC) software client for mobile handsets.
The POC1211 is an upgrade of fg microtec's proven fmM2411 real-time voice and video client which has been extended to include a full range of PoC functionalities and complies with the latest NEMS PoC Release 1.0 standards.
This new product upgrade represents a significant expansion of fg microtec's existing product portfolio.
Early implementations of the POC1211 were successfully demonstrated during CeBit 2004.
In line with fg microtec's policy of supporting open interfaces and offering modular designs, the POC1211 is interoperable with other NEMS PoC clients and NEMS PoC servers and will run independently on any hardware or software platform.
The solution is available on native OS, Symbian OS, PocketPC, Smartphone, and PalmOS operating systems and supports GPRS, CDMA, Edge and UMTS networks.
"It was an easy step for us to upgrade as we already had a tried and tested real-time voice and video client in our product offering - the fmM2411", said Olaf Braune, VP Product Management at fg microtec.
"By including NEMS PoC functionalities into an existing session management and control system we can offer mobile phone manufacturers a single, quality-assured solution which will help them drive user acceptance of new PoC services".
