Conrad takes charge
Bob Conrad has accepted the position of Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Fairchild Semiconductor Integrated Circuits Group (ICG)
Conrad will be focused on new product development efforts. He will share leadership responsibilities for this business group with Hubertus Englebrechten, Senior Vice President and General Manager of ICG, whose prime duties include setting strategic direction, marketing, and profit/loss. "Given the broad range of product offerings within this business unit; the importance of these lines to Fairchild - and the stunning expansion of our analogue business since we ventured into that product area just five years ago - it made sense to add additional expertise to help continue our growth trajectory", said Hans Wildenberg, Fairchild's Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.

"Bob is a highly skilled individual, with a strong track record in the electronics industry in both management and new product development.
I, along with Hubertus and the rest of the team, look forward to working with him to execute the next stage of our business plans".
Conrad will report to Wildenberg.
Approximately one year ago, Fairchild combined its analogue and mixed signal, logic, interface and optoelectronic product lines into one unit - the integrated circuits Group.
ICG's business is a substantial part of the total multimarket segment, representing approximately 45% of the company's $21 billion total available market.

From 2001 to 2002, despite the industry downturn, Fairchild grew its analogue revenues by more than 9%.
In analogue ICs, Fairchild is the number three supplier in Asia and the number six supplier worldwide.
Gartner lists Fairchild as the number two supplier of logic products in Asia, the fastest growing region of the world.
"Fairchild's focus markets for ICG include ultraportable, system power and power supplies, digital consumer products, signal path and interconnect end markets", continued Wildenberg.
"We have the right products to support these applications, whose growth rates are projected to increase 16 to 20% annually.
In 2003, we'll introduce more than 100 new products targeted at applications for motor control, battery management, signal path management and offline power systems.
Additionally, Fairchild leads the way with package innovations, first with the SC70 package and now with the MicroPAK and MLP packages.
Fairchild is the 'one-stop shop' for key system building block components.
We expect to continue down this path to further success".
Conrad brings more than 20 years experience in the semiconductor industry to his new position.
He has served in management roles throughout his career, most recently as President and CEO for Trebia Networks, a private, venture backed company.
He previously served as Vice President and General Manager for Analog Devices and spent 12 years in product development and management with Texas Instruments.
He holds a BSEE from the University of Cincinnati.
