Offline switch cuts
monitor standby power
The FS8S0765RC Fairchild power switch (FPS) is a highly integrated offline power switch for CRT monitor flyback power supply applications
This device integrates a fully avalanche-rated SenseFET (650V minimum breakdown rating) with a current mode PWM IC featuring primary side regulation. This unique combination minimises external components, simplifies designs and lowers cost in target applications. Featuring burst mode operation for stand-by mode (under 2W at 265V AC), the new FS8S0765RC greatly lowers power consumption by reducing switching loss.

Designs based on the FS8S0765RC enjoy performance superior to discrete mosfet/controller or RCC switching converter solutions, while offering the benefits of reduced board space and improved reliability through various protection circuits.
The FS8S0765RC's internal features include overvoltage, overload, overcurrent and thermal shutdown protection.
To eliminate the screen noise generated by the switching action, the FS8S0765RC turns on its internal mosfet synchronously with the external sync signal.
The FS8S0765RC power switch also boasts an integrated fixed oscillator, undervoltage lockout, optimised blanking and gate turn-on/turn-off driver, as well as temperature-compensated precision current sources for loop compensation and fault protection circuitry.
The internal current sensing high-voltage SenseFET offers a 650V minimum breakdown rating.
The FS8S0765RC is available now in a space-saving TO-220-5L package.
